When doing business online, we need to think about what people are willing and most likely to buy online.

I started thinking about this when I read about someone who is selling adult diapers online. What a great idea! Many older people need to wear adult diapers, but are embarrased to buy them in stores.

What else do people buy online?

I suppose it isn't just a matter of the product, but also the sales process. Take books for example. Searching for books online is much quicker compared to looking for a book in the store. We can read a ton of reviews, jacket covers, and recommendations from other readers on a site like Amazon.com.

Another category of things people buy online are things that can be delivered digitally immediately. This includes music, ebooks, travel reservations, etc...

The last category of things that people tend to buy online are things they want right away. People might have a problem such as a rash or some other problem. They go online to research it and when they find a solution to their problem, they will most likely want to order and get the solution as soon as possible.

I like the adult diapers example : ) So true that people do not want to buy those things in stores.

I'm not sure what the latest percentages are, but we know people buy things online. We also know that we (as internet marketers) can sell anywhere to anyone at anytime. We just need to figure out how to do that in a profitable way.
