Something great is about to happen to the affiliate marketing industry.
I've been waiting a long time for affiliate marketing to include phone referrals. Instead of getting someone to click a link, the idea is that you have a personalized 800 number or a tracking code that allows you to generate leads by getting people to call a phone number.
Sending leads to a phone rep should lead to higher conversion rates and higher sales amounts. Phone reps can anwer the customer's specific questions and offer additional products and services that might be appropriate.
A company called RingRevenue has gotten some decent investment money. They are starting to offer their services through some of the major affiliate marketing platforms including some merchants on Share A Sale.

Phone tracking would rock. I have been really disappointed with the merchant landing pages I a sending my traffic to. I know some merchants have really good landing pages with high conversion, but the merchants in one of my niches seem like they aren't even trying.
Getting someone on the phone is such a better sales process. I would think that my conversion rate would skyrocket.
Hopefully this phone tracking stuff gets used by many merchants in short order.
