Nice To Have Some Revenue Again

I'm back on the upward revenue trend.

After a couple of years of living off past earnings, I was getting close to running out of money. I've been trying different things in a desperate attempt to find a solid source fo revenue. Just as the money was about to run out, I think I have found something that is working.

I can't reveal my source of traffic, but I get a good chunk of traffic each day. This has allowed me to do some testing on one of my sites. Three months ago, I was pretty disappointed with the low level of money I was making from the traffic. I continued to test and tweak and now I have tripled my earnings from the same traffic.

The main thing I learned was to keep testing. You just never know what will work. I was happy with any revenue so I enjoyed the low level of traffic and thought I just needed to increase the amount of traffic to get more revenue. After some tweaking, it is nice to be getting more revenue from the same amount of traffic. Now I am really focused on increasing the traffic.

One of the main things i learned is that my site has a very low conversion rate for the affiliate programs I am promoting. I had a lot of my traffic clicking through to affiliate links and seeing no value from it. I know the traffic is solid and maybe some of the problem is that I am not pre selling the traffic enough, but I think the main problem is that the site is based on a high ticket item that has a very low conversion rate.

The major change I made was taking off a lot of my affiliate links and focusing on AdSense revenue. Once I started to focus on the ad revenue I test numerous ad placements, colors, and types of ads. This is how I ended up tripling my revenue.

Now if I could just figure out how to get more traffic. I'm trying to add as much quality content as possible and I wouldlove to figure out how to get some quality links to my site. A nice ranking for a big keyword on Google could end up being very profitable.
