Learn How To Do Business Online

I've been experimenting with websites for a little over a year. It is amazing how much I have been learning in that span of time. There is so much to learn about how to do business online and new things keep happening every day.

The most important thing I have learned is to not be in a hurry to spend money. It is really easy to lose a lot of money when buying traffic before understanding what is going on.

After an initial loss, I have been trying to get some free traffic. This has allowed me to test and tweak without breaking the bank. I wish I had more traffic so my tesitng would be faster and more accurate, but I have learned many things even with a small amount of traffic.

A good stats and tracking program is very important. I now can see where all of my traffic comes from and what they do on my site. I have figured out that how my pages are set up really makes a big difference in how people see and accept my sites.

I'm also learning that online business is not as easy as some eBook marketers make it seem. Most of it is pretty easy, but getting traffic is very difficult.

The goof thing is that everything I have been learning is going into my memory banks. My sites are getting better. My traffic is increasing. My links are growing. My status with the search engines is improving.

I read INC Magazine once in awhile and one thing I have noticed is that many of the successful start up companies are being led by people who have previously managed a few failed start up companies.

Entrepreneurs need to fail a few times in order to gain the knowledge to find success.

Sounds like you are doing the right things and figuring out some good things. It is great that you are taking a long term view. I once wrote something similar called I'm A Virtual Farmer that I think you might enjoy. It is about thinking long-term on the web while building value like a farmer would do.
