One thing I am slowly learning is that I need to focus on what works.

Sometimes we can get stuck working on things we think should work even when they don't work.

The internet doesn't always make sense. Online newspapers should make more ad revenue compared to print ad revenue, but the online revenue is paltry.

I would think that financial sites would make good ad revenue, but they dont. I think this is primarily because financial ads are a little spammy. Also, the site visitors don't have a specific reason for why they would click an ad. They are primarily looking for information, not services or products.

I'm starting to consider myself a reformed spreadaholic. Ilearned a lot by spreading out my online efforts, but now I need to focus on what works.

So true. Some things just don't make sense or cents online.
