Learn How To Do Business Online

I got a link to my site and it is delivering a healthy amount of traffic. This got me all excited, but I am having trouble monetizing the traffic.

My first problem is that not many people are clicking on the ads or the affiliate links. I am trying a few different placements and colors to see if I can increase the click through rates, but so far it has been frustrating.

The second problem is that the advertising clicks I am geting are not as big as I hoped for. I should be getting clicks worth 50 cents to a dollar, but so far the clicks have averaged around 20 cents. I wonder if this has something to do with my AdSense ads being new and needing to be further indexed and researched by the Google bots. Hopefully my per click earnings will raise over the next few days.

The other problem is that I didn't pay for the link that is sending me traffic. There is a real possibility that the link could be removed at any point. Since the traffic is so healthy right now, I am trying to do as much testing as possible with the free traffic while it lasts.

Well, I am lucky that the link is still in place and still sending me a pretty healthy amount fo traffic. The traffic comes into the site and goes to multiple pages while spending an average of two miutes on the site.

Pretty good traffic as far as I am concerned.

This is why the low click through rate confuses me.

I have done a lot of testing with various ad placements and calls to action. My daily ad revenue has increased, but it still is extremely small for the amount of trafic coming through. I'm also still not happy with the per click revenue I'm getting from AdSense. I thought it would be higher for my niche.

One area that is working pretty well is the amount of clicks I am getting on my affiliate links. The problem is that I haven't seen any sales yet. I tried removing all of the affiliate links, but it didn't increase the ad revenue or the amount of clicks on the ads so I just put the affiliate links back. When I replaced the affiliate links, I put a more targeted offer and landing page onto the site. Hopefully the changes I am making will lead to a higher revenue from the traffic boost I recently got.
