Integrate Your AdSense & Analytics Accounts

I highly recommend that everyone should integrate their Google AdSense and Analytic accounts.

It is really easy to do. Once you integrate your accounts, you just put a piece of tracking code on your site on top of your pages before the first AdSense ad.

When you look at your Analytics account, you will then also see AdSense earnings information. You will be able to see what traffic sources and keywords are generating the most Adsense revenue. This is great information to have that wasn't avail… Continue

Advertising vs. Sales

I just heard a reporter from the New York Times talk about how little revenue they generate from their website compared to their newspaper even though they have more people reading the website. I have heard a few people from the New York Times use the same line as they say they get dollars from the newspaper and pennies from their website.

Building Online Communities

I'm in the process of building online communities.

It certainly isn't easy, but at least the technical aspects are no longer an issue.

There are lots of online applications and software solutions for building an online community.

The hard part is getting the community started and keeping it going.

Building communities online is probably the best way to make some money online.

In the past, people have used PPC marketing to buy traffic and send it directly to sales pages or affiliate programs… Continue

I agree that good content and good links is the best way to get good traffic - both from word of mouth recommendations and also from Google search results. What doesn't work is the "submit to thousands of search engines" and "thousands of visitors…

I agree that traffic from search engines (i.e., Google these days) "bounces" more than other sources. They've come from a search results page that has nine other options for them to explore, while a single link from another site suggested to them th…

Yes, the keyword Adsense report is one of my favorites. However, I thought more earnings would be coming from my search traffic. I found that most of my earnings are coming from my links and referrals instead of my search traffic. All of my sites s…

A lot of insights are available after connecting AdSense and Analytics. One that we use is seeing the AdSense revenue for each search term that brings traffic to a site. This helps us spot where we should focus our content creation actives to get th…

This would be a moot question if Google would include a time of day report in Analytics. Does anyone know if this report already exists? Maybe I'm just not looking in the right spot.

Yes, I also highly recommend doing this. Any additional information you can get about your site is very important. On the web, the smallest things can make the biggest difference. I learned a lot about my sites when I integrated these two services.…

I think it is different for each site. It depends on how big your site is and how many visitors it gets per day. Google probaly doesn't want to waste their bandwidth visiting a site to record a few visitors in one hour so they probably space out the…
