I'm working on a few websites that are based on PHP. I'm wondering if it is worth learning PHP or if it is a technology that will soon be replaced by a new type of coding process. I hear it is pretty easy to figure out so I'm not sure what I'm waiting for. I gues I'm thinking about how I learned html only to hardly never use it because software like Dreamweaver and some hosted applications like NIng make it so easy to build websites without knowing html. Even though I don't use html very often, it is nice to have some background with it for when I do need it. I'm thinking having the base knowledge of PHP will also be beneficial, but thought I would ask people who might know a little more about these things. Is learnig PHP worth my time investment or would it be like learning how to be a VCR technician when VCR's are no longer being built?
