Has anyone here tried advertising on Facebook?
I just got done reading a long forum post on another site about people's experiences with Facebook. It sounds like most of the advertisers are big brand advertisers doing CPM campaigns.
The forum was home to a bunch of PPC pros who focus on CPA offers including some of the more nefarious rebill offers.
I'm not sure I want to compete with big brand advertisers or with the PPC pros pushing rebill offers.
What I like about Facebook is that you can really break down and test different market segments. You can say you want to only advertise to males between the ages of 34-35 from 11 am - 1 pm. This is very targeted marketing. Tracking the results and trying different things will let you do some really specific targeting.
The main thing I don't like about Facebook ads is that it is push marketing. People are on the site doing something else and then you are there pushing your ads on them and trying to get them to focus/do something else.
I prefer search engine PPC marketing because people are actively searching for your product or service when you put your ad in front of them.
I might do some experimentation with Facebooks ads, but overall, I would rather put my money into search engine advertising.
